set it up, can’t get it to connect wirelessly, used cable. Printed out ~20 pages and got msg that I was out of Toner!!! What! Ad says I should get ~2K pages. Maybe someone was very ambitious and got stuck on the 0 key…. does not print 2000. Am on my way out the door to go buy more toner… Not even 1 day of work out of this and have had more problems than it’s worth.

I would highly recommend this machine, especially for the money. I wish it could scan both sides in one step, but other than that, it’s perfect for a small business

I installed the driver/software package from Brother website and the firmware update right from the start, so I cannot comment on how the machine would have run under the older firmware and drivers.
But as it is I am really impressed and happy with my purchase! Software installation went smoothly, the printer is fast, b/w and color prints are even better than I expected–vivid but natural colors and lots of “punch”. The software interface is easy to use once you get the difference between using the computer to scan or doing so directly from the button on the printer. I think it awesome to be able to punch a few buttons on the printer and have it automatically scan a document as a pdf and send it to a pre-designated folder my computer.
Wireless feature leaves lots of options open for the future in terms of where to place the printer.
Toner was easy to install. Hopefully the price on the toner drops a little and it probably will.
I would not hesitate to recommend this all-in-one to a friend. Bottom line it works like it’s supposed to and I’m very happy with the quality.

I will make this short and sweet. This is a great home printer and probably a good office printer. It is well made, i.e. feels very solid. The setup is easy and the print quality is great. I do not use it for photos, I would go with an ink printer in that case or Costco (you cannot touch their prices on prints). Also, the printer warms up quickly (I have seen laser printers take forever to warm up). All in all a good printer.

I purchased this printer for a home office. It did connect to our wireless network and works well for that. We have 4 computers throughout our home that use this printer. This printer replaced an inkjet printer. The color is a little better than the inkjet we had but don’t notice the quality to be that much better than the inkjet. I guess what has been the biggest issue is that it costs over $200 to replace the 4 toner cartridges. And those don’t last all that long. It’s like buying a whole new printer every time you run out of toner. I plan to try refilling them to see if that can cut the cost.
For those looking to use this for high capacity printing with most being black print, I would recommend getting a high capacity black and white printer laser jet and adding a separate color inkjet unless you just have to have laser color. In my work office I print about 50,000 pages in a year. Almost all of these are black print. A good HP laser does the trick and you can find replacement cartridges very inexpensively. I also have an inkjet that I use for the occasional color. So for those looking for a high capacity business solution, I don’t think this is such a good choice since the replacement cartridge cost is too high.
One other issue with this printer is that it plays havoc with our electric system in the room. Every time the printer gears up to print, the lights all dim and flicker. If I have my radio on it cuts off. Not sure why that is. My previous inkjet did nothing like that. Never had a problem.
Bottomline, I would not have purchased this printer for my home office knowing what I know now. And definitely would not purchase for a high capacity solution in a work environment.
